The 2016 Australian Geography Competition will be held in Week 3/4 of Term 2 and is open to students in years 7-12. It is a multiple choice competition like the ICAS ones for English/Maths/Science.

Source assessment task in next Monday’s double (11/4), with time to complete for homework and hand up at start of Wednesday’s lesson (13/4).

Topic is Australian Women during WWII

You will be given some information, plus a number of sources.

Answer some short answer questions, plus one essay-type question. HINT: the essay-type question gives you a suggested start for each paragraph: use these!

You will type your answers. You may use the textbook and internet, but for the most part the information you need is in the sources and should be referred from the sources. If it asks, ‘According to Source A…’ then your answer should refer to Source A, and include info (paraphrase, short quotes) from Source A. Don’t get caught up with too much external research.
