Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Truman announces the atomic bombing on Hiroshima, and the threat of ‘a rain of ruin from the air, the like of which has never been seen on this earth’ if the terms of surrender were not immediately accepted.

‘The Luck of Kokura’ – target #1 on 9 August 1945, but poor visibility meant that the bombing planes moved on to Nagasaki. But why was there poor visibility…?
